White Sand Beach
White Sand Beach must be said to be Koh Chang’s absolute favorite beach and town as far as charter tourists are concerned.

Here there are hundreds of places to stay, lots of shops, cheerful go-go bars. Every month more and more new hotels appear.
If you are obsessed with sunsets, then you should definitely experience it from a bean bag at White Sand Beach.

Northern White Sand Beach
The 2 km northern area of White Sand Beach is by far the most touristic on all of Koh Chang.
The hotels are right next to each other along the beach and on the main street – which runs parallel to the beach.
Along the main street White Sand Beach is Koh Chang’s largest shopping area. Here you will find everything from restaurants, souvenir shops and clothing stores, to tailors, tattooists and tour operators as far as the eye can see.
At the northernmost end of the beach, where all the charter hotels gradually disappear, a small oasis suddenly appears. A super charming relic from the heyday of backpackers.

A small oasis
Small bungalows built along the mountainside, in all kinds of colors and in several places with small balconies.
The atmosphere here takes you back to the time without solar cars and swimming pools. The place breathes peace and idyll with today’s backpackers lying in hammocks with a book and a cold Singha in hand.
Funnily enough, it’s almost as if an invisible line has been drawn in the sand between this Pippi Longstocking area and the charter hotels. It seems as if the tourists at the big hotels stay on “their half” and the backpackers on theirs.
It should be said, however, that in several of the places in the Pippi area, you cannot stay with children. On the other hand, it is super cheap to live there, but probably also very primitive.

Southern White Sand Beach
The southern part of White Sand Beach is somewhat less visited than the northern part, but this is not entirely without reason – the beach here is not particularly good.
If you don’t care about swimming, but would rather spend the day in a sun lounger with a good book and a cocktail, then this part of White Sand Beach is a really good choice.
The main street along the southern part of White Sand Beach also differs from the northern one in that the road begins to move uphill and away from the beach.
On this part of the main street, there is not so much shopping on offer, but instead small crafty bars and restaurants as well as cheap accommodation options.
