Review of Little Moon Villa, Koh Mak

Peace and tranquility are probably the most characteristic of this wonderful place!

I had the pleasure of spending 4 wonderful days at Little Moon Villa on Koh Mak. A real little paradise surrounded by mangrove forest and completely free of noise from cars and other tourists. I had the private beach to myself – and most evenings, also the restaurant.

Little Moon Villa is almost enchantingly quiet, surrounded by lush green trees, palm trees and beach.

I can’t imagine a better place to be if you need to get far away from everyday life and want to experience completely authentic Thailand, while living wildly stylish and minimalistic.

The resort’s modern and large villas are located on a slope and all villas have a large terrace from which you can sit and enjoy the fantastic view, only to the sound of cicadas and geckos.

The villas

The beautiful villas at Little Moon Villa are large – or 85 and 99 km2. The villas all have pitched ceilings and large windows facing the sea.

In the separate bedroom, you can lie in bed and look out onto the terrace with the beautiful view.

The bedroom is furnished with a desk, cozy corner with wicker furniture, a large and very comfortable bed with quality linen and comfortable pillows, as well as side tables.

When you enter the villa, the first thing you see is the beautiful free-standing bathtub. The toilet has its own room, while the shower, sink and miscellaneous. toiletries are behind a half wall.

There is of course also a large fridge and the possibility to make coffee/tea with an electric kettle.

The beach

The beach primarily consists of a mix of coarse sand and volcanic rock, the is clean and peaceful and without any kind of solar cars or anything else disturbing the beautiful nature.

Most of the day the water is so shallow that you have to walk far to cover just your feet with water.

The resort has a few sunbeds placed in different places in the large garden, from which you can lie down and look out over the beach and the water.

Breakfast

When you arrive at Little Moon Villa and check in, in addition to a small welcome drink, you will also be given a breakfast voucher. On this you can choose between different “packages” with breakfast, which cater for every nationality.

For breakfast you will be served a glass of delicious freshly squeezed juice. A super nice breakfast!

Little Moon Villa Restaurant

Little Moon Villa’s restaurant is aesthetic, atmospheric and beautifully situated at the front of the steep slope, and in the middle of the resort’s large lawn, overlooking the beach.

All walls consist of collapsible shutters, which provide fantastic light – day or night.

The menu in the restaurant is versatile and tasty. I tasted some of the local dishes and was extremely satisfied.

Activities

Little Moon Villa is the epitome of relaxation! Therefore, the biggest activities are enjoying the silence, lying down with a good book, pulling out a canoe and paddling for a walk, or just sitting in the restaurant and enjoying the atmosphere with pleasant lounge music in the background.

The resort has scooters that can be rented for 250 baht for a day – which I highly recommend using, as the resort is a little away.

My review of the resort

I have only good things to say about Little Moon Villa. I really need to completely disconnect from the outside world, and you must be prepared for that when you book this wonderful place!

Bonus info:

  • The staff are fantastically welcoming and smiling – and speak really good English
  • The resort has a very well-functioning Wi-Fi both in the villas and in common areas
  • There are no HDMI connectors in the villa, but plenty of sockets
  • All water is served in refillable bottles (environmentally friendly)
  • You can rent a scooter at the resort for 250 baht for a day
  • The resort has kayaks, but I don’t know if they cost anything to use
  • You can book boat tickets with pickup at reception (800 baht to Koh Chang by speedboat)
