Review of Koh Munnork Private Island in Thailand → Must Visit

Environmental Considerations & Facilities

Koh Munnork Private Island, as the name suggests, is privately owned. There is only one resort on the island, and for the sake of nature and the environment, the resort has deliberately taken care not to overbuild and/or expand, but to remain relatively modest and as far as possible a sustainable resort.

Environmental considerations are an important priority for the island and the resort, which is why everything has been cut to the bone when it comes to facilities:

  • Between 9-13 there is only electricity in the restaurant – during that time there is no electricity on the rest of the island – the resort has its own generator
  • Only in the restaurant does the wifi work fairly well, in the bungalow there is very little connection
  • In the really nice bungalows, you won’t find a TV or a fridge

In order to limit plastic waste, it is also not allowed to bring any kind of plastic packaging to the island.
